At GETI, we are driven by a dream that every child has access to effective and transformational education and thus we want to play our part in achieving the United Nations Sustainable Education, Goal 4 - ‘ensuring inclusive and quality education for all and promoting lifelong learning.’
Modern education brings students to take the center stage. Therefore, it is imperative that we move away from being prescriptive into creating an accommodating framework.
The National Education Policy of India (NEP) 2020 has created a framework for a new learning environment for children which necessitates a change in approach in the classroom. While teachers will learn new skills to deliver curriculum based on NEP, the first step has to be a mindset change that will open them to new ways of teaching that may be out of their comfort zone.
Simultaneously, the National Education Policy recognises and identifies teachers and faculty as the heart of the learning process. As envisioned by Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji, the Policy aims to empower teachers of India and lists out various reforms for their recruitment, continuous professional development and service conditions.
We are guided by the visionary belief that teachers and educators will have to be at the center of inclusive and quality education. We recognise that teachers are the key to expanding opportunities for young people and their role in the society should be promoted as endorsed by the National Education Policy [2020] of India.
At GETI, we are continuously involved in exhaustive research towards teacher training - constantly on the lookout for new ideas to make our training a catalyst for sustained and lasting teacher professional development and ultimately preparing students for the rapidly changing employment landscape and a global ecosystem.
